*Important information for patients*

FRIDAY 18TH NOVEMBER 2016

As you will be aware,  Surrey Docks Health Centre and Albion Street Group Practice  have been working together to develop and progress a merger between the two practices. As part of this process we engaged with our patients, NHS England, NHS Southwark Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and local stakeholders.  The Primary Care Joint Committee agreed the business case in October this year.

We have since been informed by Albion Street Group Practice (ASGP) that they do not wish to proceed with the proposed practice merger with Surrey Docks.

We are disappointed with the decision made by Albion Street Group Practice not to pursue the merger. It remains our view that such a merger would have been in the interests of both patients at this health centre and the wider community both short and long term. We will continue to work with NHS Southwark CCG to explore new ways of working for the benefit of patients and we thank the CCG for its contribution to the process over recent months. The decision of ASGP will have no influence on the current services provided from the health centre. We will continue to work with local practices through Quay Health Solutions, the GP federation in north Southwark to provide improved services for our patients including access to services 8am – 8pm, 7 days per week.

We would like to thank all of our patients and the members of Surrey Docks PPG who gave us feedback, attended a number of consultation meetings and responded to the online survey. We will continue to keep you informed about future developments.

Please remember our bookable telephone appointments can be used to discuss referrals and blood tests.

GP Earnings

All GP Practices are required to declare mean earnings (i.e. average pay) for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice.

The average pay for GPs working in the practice of Surrey Docks Health Centre in the last financial year was £56,937 before tax and National Insurance.

This is for 5 full time GPs and 3 part time GPs who worked in the practice for more than six months.
