Practice Policies |
Data Protection
We are registered under the Data
Protection Act and have robust systems in place to protect your
confidentiality.
Personal health information is
used to monitor the Practice's health screening activities e.g.
cervical smears. Occasionally we are required to send anonymised
health data to the PCT for the purposes of quality.
Our
Commitment To You
This Practice is totally
dedicated to the care and well-being of its patients and is
wholly committed to delivery of care of the highest quality.
You can expect to be treated with courtesy and respect at all
times.
No medical treatment will be given without your informed
consent.
You have the right to see your health records, subject to
limitations in the law. Please ask at reception for further
information.
Zero Tolerance
All staff at the Surgery have
the right to carry out their work without threat of violence.
The Surgery has a policy of removing from our list any patient
who is physically or verbally abusive or threatening towards any
member of our staff or other patients.
TEACHING
AND SUPERVISION OF STUDENTS
In this practice we occasionally have specially selected students to
gain work experience in the Practice.
In order that students can learn and become the doctors and nurses
of the future, they are invited into the surgery to sit in with your
doctor. We will always let you know if a student is in the practice
and if you decide that you would rather the student was not present
then they will be asked to leave the consultation room.
Ideally you should advise the receptionist of this before your
consultation but you have the right to ask the student to leave the
room at any time during your consultation. Whether the student is
present or not, will not affect the way you are treated nor any
treatment you may be given, nor will this affect your relationship
with the doctor in any way.
Chaperone Policy
This organisation is committed to providing a safe, comfortable
environment where patients and staff can be confident that the best
practice is being followed at all times and the safety of everyone
is of paramount importance.
Patients are encouraged to ask for a chaperone if required at the
time of booking an appointment.
All staff are aware of our chaperone policy and understand their
particular roles and responsibilities and levels of competency.
